ABOUT GEISINGER'S PEDIATRIC RESIDENCY PROGRAM

Shortly after the field of pediatrics was recognized as separate from general internal medicine, Geisinger's Pediatric Residency Program began training pediatricians.   Since that time, our program has graduated hundreds of physicians who have served children and their families in small rural settings, suburban locations, and large urban locations.  Our graduates have enjoyed success in private practice, sub-specialty care, academic appointments, and research. 

 

Geisinger is nationally recognized for academic and quality care excellence.  Our residency program boasts an outstanding board pass rate, among the best in the country.  

 

Our residents are amazing.  We work very hard to identify and recruit students with excellent academic histories, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and personal characteristics that create cohesive classes that truly care about each other's well-being.

 

Our program is committed to providing the best education for our residents to practice in whatever setting they choose in the future.  Geisinger's pediatric department is full of skilled attendings who love to teach, mentor, and guide new physicians as they strive to achieve their goals.
