HOW DO I APPLY TO THE PROGRAM?

We accept all applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

CAN I VISIT THE HOSPITAL TO GET A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE PROGRAM AND THE DANVILLE COMMUNITY?

Choosing a residency program is a huge decision. You’re welcome to visit the hospital and surrounding area to see if our program is a fit for you. Keep watching for more information on scheduled visits.

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT INTERVIEW SEASON THIS YEAR?

Interviews will begin in November. All interviews this year will take place virtually.

WHAT ARE YEARS IN PEDIATRICS LIKE?

As Child Neurology residents in the PGY1 and PGY2 years, you are part of Pediatrics learning well care, acute care, inpatient management, Emergency Medicine and critical care of pediatric patients.  

PGY3 year takes you to Neurology to learn adult neurology.

PGY4 and PGY5 years you focus on Child Neurology.

Throughout all 5 years, you are supported by Child Neurology Residency leadership and mentors, as well as Pediatrics and Neurology Residency leadership teams.

DOES GEISINGER HAVE A DRESS CODE?

You’re required to come to work in professional attire or scrubs. Hospital scrubs are available at kiosks located in the children’s hospital.

IS PARKING AVAILABLE?

Yes! Designated lots on campus offer free parking, with shuttles available.

ARE MEALS PROVIDED?

You’ll receive a meal stipend, which can be used to cover food expenses. Our food court is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

WHAT TYPES OF MENTORSHIP PROGRAMS ARE AVAILABLE?

When you join our program, you are assigned a mentor. Your mentor will be there to help you adjust, explore your interests, and grow personally and professionally.
