The practice of medicine and spirituality have been intertwined throughout history. Tending to our patients spiritual needs as well as our own is important. For many physicians, including those in the early years of practice, an active spiritual life is invaluable as a means to deal with the stresses and emotional challenges that come with the profession. Danville and our surrounding communities are fortunate to have many congregations of all faiths which are all very eager to welcome new members. Our local faith communities are keenly aware of the need to minister to the resident staff at Geisinger, and for them, the arrival of new physicians every year is a time of excitement and anticipation.
